O nobel português

The proposal for this book came from the former dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, the esteemed Albert Branchadell - whom we thank for his confidence - and could not have come at a better time, as this year, 2022, marks the centenary of the birth of José Saramago (Azinhaga, 1922). The invitation was intended to give continuity to the "12 Literatures" collection created by the FTI, which serves to show the world the 12 languages taught at this institution. That the second volume was dedicated to the only (so far) Nobel Prize winner in the Portuguese language was an honour for us as publishers.
