Una parasitologia microbiològica
Synopsis
Clinical microbiology has undergone a profound technological revolution in recent years, transforming microbiological diagnosis. The incorporation of MALDI-TOF enables the rapid and accurate identification of microorganisms, while the expansion of molecular biology and high-throughput sequencing has significantly increased detection capacity, even without prior diagnostic orientation. At the same time, phylogenetic analysis has redefined microbial taxonomy by providing a more robust genotypic classification and an evolutionary perspective on parasitosis.
This manual is intended for health sciences students as a structured introduction to clinical microbiology. Its aim is to provide a solid foundation for understanding the main microorganisms from both evolutionary and clinical perspectives, facilitate the integration of basic knowledge with clinical practice, provide reliable information, and especially acknowledge the often invisible work carried out by many women microbiologists.
